another great week

I had a great week! It feels so good to get out of the house in the evening and go to the gym. I'm so thankful Harsha has enough energy to play with the kids while I go. I really need that time to zone out and focus on my own body, instead of the children's.

I do have a funny story to share. Last night I was sweating away on the cross training machine and I got hit on! lol It must be the assets that breast feeding has given me :-) He was so clueless, it was pathetic. I couldn't figure out why he thought I'd be interested... For starters, I had big blue paw print stamps all over the backs of my hands, only something a mommy would have. And then of course, the wedding ring. It took him a good five minutes to figure out I really wasn't interested. Anyway, I found humor in it.

I lost a little over 3lbs this week, which is more than they recommend. I guess I get to eat more :-) I haven't cut back my eating, because I love to eat. I just exercise so I can eat. And since I lost a pound too much, I get to eat more. yippee!

I'll check in again early next week. I have a spinning class planned for tomorrow, yoga Sunday, elliptical/weight training Monday and then another spinning class on Tuesday. It helps me to have my exercise all scheduled for the week, otherwise I get too busy and don't take the time I need.

Spinning Class....

Well last night I returned to spinning class. I was very worried it would be too painful, but it was great. The instructor, Dwight, worked us hard though. We spent the entire class doing hills, with almost half the time spent standing. It was a great workout, however I was looking for something a little easier for my first time back. At least this way I didn't get saddle sore :-)

The majority of my weight is on my thighs and butt, so hopefully the spinning will help remove that quickly! It always amazes me that the baby is all in the belly, but all the weight seems to go to my bottom side. My waistline is almost back to normal, which makes my bottom look even larger. ugh... at least I'm working on it now.

Getting Back into it

Well I have been working out regularly for the last week and a half. Before that I was trying to make time for it, but I wasn't very consistant. Miles is now one month old, so I won't be too hard on myself. I've lost half the pregnancy weight so far, but that still means I have around 20 lbs to lose. It seems like a lot of weight to me! I will try to post to this blog a few times every week to let you all know my progress.

So this last week was my first real work out week. I lost two pounds and losing some inches. So my week looked like this: Sunday - an hour of yoga, Monday - elliptical for 35 minutes and lifted weights, Tuesday - stair climber for 35 minutes and abs for 10 minutes, Wednesday - speed walk for 40 minutes (hills) and lifted weights, Thursday rested, Friday - elliptical for 45 minutes and abs for 10 minutes, and finally Saturday - 90 min YMCA class.

My goal is to do something every day. The walks to the park with the kids/dogs don't count. I want to do something that gets me sweating :-) I started running, however I have heel pain that I want to go away. I'm going to stick to low impact exercise the next couple weeks and then hopefully I'll be ready to run! This coming week, I am planning on returning to my spinning class. I want to make it through the class... hopefully it won't be a pain in my butt (literally).
